Dongting Lake Art Creation Nomination and Sketching Exhibition

The “Protecting the Yangtze River” Dongting Lake Art Creation Nomination and Sketching Exhibition opened at the Yueyang Art Museum on December 30, 2020.

The event is divided into two parts: nomination exhibition and sketching exhibition. The nomination exhibition is held at Hall 1 and Hall 2 of Yueyang Art Museum; the sketching exhibition is at Hall 3. The event will open to the public free of charge till March 5, 2021.

It is guided and supported by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, hosted by the Yueyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television, and organized by the Yueyang Art Museum and Yueyang Painting and Calligraphy Academy.

Most of the artists participating in the event were born and grew up in Yueyang. They are full of passion for this land. Yueyang’s green mountains and lucid waters glow with artistic originality and come alive under their brushes. Their works call on the public to express their love for Yueyang and protect the happy homeland.

According to exhibition curator Wang Feng, Yueyang Art Museum has planned and organized several activities themed “Protecting the Yangtze River” since 2018, including sketches, exhibitions and curated project applications. The exhibition is based on the results of these activities. More than 120 works of 41 artists are exhibited. Beyond that, a collection of sketching works on "Protecting the Yangtze River” Dongting Lake Ecological Investigation Activities was published.
