First Dongting Lake Reed Art Season to Open

The first Dongting Lake Reed Art Season will open at the Junshan Island Scenic Area on December 4, 2021. It is co-hosted by the Yueyang Municipal People’s Government, the Yueyang Culture, Tourism, Broadcasting and TV Bureau, and the Yueyang Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.

This reed-themed event aims to advocate harmonious coexistence of human and nature, and follow the principle of protecting natural environment and respecting ecology.

Nineteen original works created by 22 artists stood out from more than 100 entries, which will be shown in an eco-friendly way.

Reeds harvested from a 5000-sqm area are used for design and creation, to present Yueyang’s eco-friendly and green development. Twenty artists from around the country participate, including Cai Dong, Chen Hongxia, Xie Jingting, and Cheng Sanwa.

An observation platform and a reed island will be set up to facilitate visitors to appreciate the reed art and recognize value of reeds.

Shuttle buses will be arranged towards the Junshan Island.
The event opens to the public free of charge.
