12 Hunan Villages Selected as China¡¯s Beautiful Leisure Villages

Recently the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced the list of 2021 China¡¯s beautiful leisure villages. Twelve villages from Hunan Province made the list, ranking among the top of the country.

The 12 villages are:
-- Guangming Village, Bairuopu Town, Wangcheng District, Changsha City;
-- Kaihui Village, Kaihui Town, Changsha County;
-- Xiaobu Village, Baohe Yao Township, Beihu District, Chenzhou City;
-- Xianyuling Village, Xianyu Town, Hetang District, Zhuzhou City;
-- Changputang Village, Liaojiaqiao Town, Fenghuang County;
-- Xianglingshan Village, Nanjindu Neighborhood, Lingling District, Yongzhou City;
-- Hetang Village, Heye Town, Shuangfeng County;
-- Yantou Village, Chashan¡¯ao Town, Zhuhui District, Hengyang City;
-- Yanglinjie Village, Jiayi Town, Pingjiang County;
-- Baishuidong Village, Yantang Town, Xinshao County;
-- Yuntaishan Village, Malu Town, Anhua County; and,
-- Jietingyi Village, Guanzhuang Town, Yuanling County.

According to relevant person in charge of the Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the selected villages have leveraged their local resources, explore agricultural functions, improve infrastructure, and have good rural customs. These villages have established rural leisure tourism brands, and played a vital role in driving rural prosperity and increasing farmers' income.

As of 2020, Hunan Province has established 40 beautiful leisure villages and 243 national star-level farms, including 94 national five-star farms. In 2020, more than 199 million tourist trips were made in provincial rural leisure tourism, with a total operating income of nearly 50 billion yuan.
