Wu Lan Attends Meeting in Yueyang, Stresses High-quality Development of Vocational Education
On October 28, Wu Lan, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, visited Yueyang as a representative of the Hunan Provincial People¡¯s Congress to participate in a theme activity for deputies to provincial people's congress. The activity theme was ¡°Setting the Example in Learning Party History and Delivering Services to the People¡±. A symposium was held on the increase of public enrollments in secondary vocational schools and the improvement of vocational education. Wu Lan emphasized that we must earnestly study the spirit of the central conference on work related to people's congresses, implement President Xi Jinping¡¯s important discourses on vocational education, gather strengths from various parties to build Hunan into a vocational education highland, and build a high-quality vocational education system to promote high-quality development. Wu Lan stressed the need to turn the broad prospects of vocational education into practice.
Wang Yi¡¯ou, secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Yueyang Municipal People¡¯s Congress; Li Zhi, deputy secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee; Ma Na, deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Standing Committee of the Yueyang Municipal People¡¯s Congress; Wen Chunfang, secretary of Party Working Committee of the Yueyang Economic and Technological Development Zone; Huang Jianwen, secretary general of the Standing Committee of the Yueyang Municipal People¡¯s Congress; and, some deputies to national, provincial and municipal people¡¯s congresses participated.
Wu Lan and some deputies inspected the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the School of Nursing of the Yueyang Vocational & Technical College, and the vocational skills training workshop of Yueyang No.1 Vocational Technical Secondary School, and learned about the construction of special majors, student training models, school capacity and student employment. She pointed out that it is necessary to support vocational colleges in developing strong disciplines, adhere to virtue-fostering, optimize training models, lay a solid theoretical foundation, strive to cultivate more skilled technicians, and continuously improve the status and recognition of vocational education. Wu Lan also inspected the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the School of Mechanical Engineering of Hunan Institute of Science and Technology.
