40 Projects Contracted in 2nd Hunan (Yueyang) Port Economic and Trade Expo

An investment and trade promotion conference, also kay project signing ceremony, of the second Hunan (Yueyang) Port Economic and Trade Expo was held at the Chenglingji New Port Area on October 18.

Mao Qixing, inspector of the Hunan Department of Commerce and director of the Hunan Commercial Service Center, presided over the event. Luo Shuangfeng, inspector of the Hunan Department of Commerce, delivered a speech. Guo Ning, director of the Office of Port Affairs of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, Li Aiwu, deputy secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and Yueyang mayor, and persons in charge of related provincial departments and other cities and regions witnessed project signing.

Forty projects were contracted at the promotion conference, with a total investment exceeding 37.9 billion CNY. Thirty-two key projects were signed on that day, with a total investment of nearly 27 billion CNY.

Among these projects, many boast big investment and high quality. There are 5 projects with their investment exceeding one billion CNY each, and three projects invested by global or Chinese top 500 enterprises. Manufacturing projects occupy a large proportion. Nineteen projects are in manufacturing and strategical emerging industries, with a total investment of 13.53 billion CNY and accounting for nearly half of all contracted projects. Many featured projects have a connection with the free trade zone and the port area, totaling 11 and with a total investment of over 27 billion CNY.
