Taiwan Youth Cultural, Scientific, and Technological Trips to Hunan Launched
On the afternoon of October 22, the launching ceremony of the Taiwan Youth Cultural, Scientific, and Technological Trips to Hunan was held at the National Supercomputing Center in Changsha. Long Mingbiao, vice director of the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee and Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council; He Baoxiang, governor of Hunan Province; and Yok Mu-ming, former president of the pro-unification New Party of Taiwan, attended.
The event was under the guidance of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, hosted by the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial Education Department, and co-organized by the Central South University, Hunan University, and other institutions. Themed ˇ°Devoting to Sci-tech Innovation and Practice, Promoting Fine Traditional Chinese Cultureˇ±, the event aimed to deepen cross-Strait youth exchange, cooperation, and integrated development through sci-tech innovation and traditional cultural exchange, and inspire cross-Strait youth to shoulder their responsibility of inheriting fine traditional Chinese culture and contributing to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The event was divided into three special sessions: a launching ceremony; a culture, science, and technology festival; and, Hunan cultural trips. The Culture, Science, and Technology Festival will be held at the Central South University in early November. Nearly 500 cross-Strait students will be tutored and instructed by experts, scholars, and professors on the aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship projects, technological innovation courses, and business proposal writing. Hunan cultural trips will be organized by universities in batches from late October to mid-November. More than 400 Taiwan students will visit bases for exchange with Taiwan in 7 cities, including Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Yueyang. This will help young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait explore Hunan culture, deepen their experience of fine traditional Chinese culture, enhance national identity and the bonds of affection between the two sides, and promote integrated development.
At the launching ceremony, participating universities and bases for exchange with Taiwan released Hunan cultural travel routes, and announced a declaration to develop them. Taiwan student representatives of these universities shared life, study, work, and entrepreneurship stories in Hunan.
