Yueyang Cultural Tourism Indicators Has Risen Sharply
It was learned from the Yueyang Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television Bureau that, in the first half of this year, the municipal government took the occasion of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, to innovate ideas, work hard, and carry out cultural, tourism, radio and television work in an orderly, vigorous, and effective manner. Between January and June, there were 28 new cultural ¡°four-above¡± enterprises established in Yueyang. The total output value of the city¡¯s 493 such enterprises was 16.476 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.88%. Their profits were 3.135 billion yuan, up 18.06%. In the first six months, Yueyang received 34.34 million tourists, growing by 116.68%. The total tourism revenue reached 34.325 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 125.22%.
It was said that since the beginning of this year, Yueyang has built a standardized and equalized public cultural service system by increasing capital investment, innovating service methods, and promoting primary-level cultural construction, to better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the masses. The city now has 11 libraries, 11 cultural centers, 13 museums, 4 art galleries, 161 township cultural stations, and 1,750 village-level comprehensive cultural service centers. All are open to the public for free. Yueyang has built 543 welfare libraries and 51 public BookCrossing stations, reading bars, and 24-hour self-service book houses. In particular, the new Yueyang Municipal Library and Yueyang Municipal Art Museum with an investment of 324 million yuan, and the Dongting Lake Museum with an investment of 908 million yuan, have been opened to the public, becoming new landmarks of Yueyang cultural tourism. On the occasion of Yueyang celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China under the theme of ¡°A Hundred Years Ode to the Party¡±, more than 60 performances were staged, and more than 1.5 million citizens were enthusiastic to participate in or watch theatrical performances.
