Secretary Wang Inspects Key Transport Project Progress

On the afternoon of October 26, Wang Yi’ou, secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Committee, presided over a meeting on promoting and coordinating key transport projects. He stressed that we must always adhere to a people-centered approach, achieve unity in thought, strengthen confidence, and unswervingly speed up project construction with the spirit of the excellent example of “Red Flag Canal” and “Tieshan Reservoir”, so as to benefit Yueyang people.

Xie Sheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Yueyang Municipal Committee and secretary-general of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee; Li Jinsong, member of Party Leadership Group of the Yueyang Municipal People’s Government and secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Public Security Bureau; Huang Weixiong, member of Party Leadership Group of the Yueyang Municipal People’s Government; and, Wen Chunfang, secretary of Party Working Committee of the Yueyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, attended.

At the meeting, heads of the Yueyang Municipal Transport Bureau, the Steering Group Office of Beijing-Guangzhou Railway Eastward Relocation Project of Yueyang City, the Yueyang Sanhe Airport Company, and the Yueyang Main Urban Area Traffic Comprehensive Improvement Headquarters respectively made reports on the work of the G240 Junshan-Hubin Highway project, the eastward relocation project of the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway in Yueyang urban area, the Yueyang Airport reconstruction and expansion project, and traffic comprehensive improvement projects in the main urban area, and put forward suggestions on speeding up the projects. Wang Yi’ou listened to the reports, discussed related work with them, and put forward specific targets.

Wang Yi’ou pointed out that the G240 Junshan-Hubin Highway project, the eastward relocation project of the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway in Yueyang urban area, the Yueyang Airport reconstruction and expansion project, and traffic comprehensive improvement projects in the main urban area are all major transport projects concerning long-term development of Yueyang. At present, various tasks are progressing in an orderly manner, but there are still many difficulties and problems. We need to establish a firm awareness that the more difficult it is for us, the more  necessary for us to strengthen confidence, and the more necessary to unify the thinking. Wang said that we must shoulder our responsibility for the development of Yueyang City, Yueyang history, and Yueyang people, and unswervingly accelerate project progress.
