First Dongting Lake Fishing Culture Themed Community Completes Renovation

Xiangbei Water Transport Community completed renovation recently, and a corresponding Dongting Lake Fishery Culture Exhibition Hall opened at the same time. The exhibition hall not only displays fishing boats, nets, and other fishing tools, but also a large number of photos of fishermen who were fishing and going ashore. They reflected the hard years of generations of fishermen in the wind and rain.

While retaining the memories of past days, the community has also undergone earth-shaking changes: the roads have been hardened, those electric wires against the sky were buried underground, walls repaired, parking standardized, and culture conveyed on the wall... After dinner, locals may also relax and do some exercises at the square comfortably.

These were the results of the renovation on the water transportation community supported by the Nanhu New District Working Committee and Management Committee. The transformation work was progressed in accordance with the goal of building the community into “Yueyang's First Dongting Lake Fishing Culture Themed Community”. After nearly half a year of intense construction, the renovation project was fully completed a few days ago. Upon completion, the community has been officially renamed Dongting Fishing Village, aiming to recall the fishermen’s fishing memory and their inheritance of the Dongting Lake fishing culture.
