Yueyang, Global Sunac Deepen Cultural and Tourism Cooperation

The signing ceremony of the Yueyang Global Sunac Cultural Tourism International Convention and Exhibition Center Project was held on August 7. Li Aiwu, CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee deputy secretary and Yueyang mayor, attended and addressed the ceremony. Sun Hongbin, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sunac China Holdings Limited, municipal leaders including Li Zuofeng, Li Siqing, Liu Xiaoying, secretary-general Liu Chunhan, and departments heads were present. 


Yueyang government signed a cooperation agreement with the Sunac China Holdings Limited on the development and construction of the convention and exhibition center, also a Cultural Tourism Town of the Future. Another project investment and cooperation agreement was signed between the Yueyang Dongting Architecture Co., Ltd. and a Sunac branch company in Wuhan.

The 45-billion-yuan convention and exhibition center project is jointly invested by Dongting Architecture and Sunac China. It will include a 140,000-sqm convention and exhibition center, a five-star brand hotel, and a cultural tourism town, an international school, a theme park and ecological residences. A large urban complex integrating convention and exhibition, tourist resorts, commerce, culture and arts, and ecological residences is expected to be built within 3 to 5 years. The project is the third cooperation between two companies.


On behalf of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and the Yueyang Municipal People’s Government, Li Aiwu congratulated on the signing of the project. She said that Yueyang has extensive and profound cultural heritage and unique tourism resources. In recent years, Yueyang's culture and tourism integration has seen a sound momentum of development, and Yueyang is transforming from a “big city of cultural and tourism resources” to a “strong city of cultural and tourism economy”. Li added that the project is not only a new milestone in the development of Yueyang's cultural and tourism industry, but also a new starting point for Sunac China to develop business in Yueyang. It also marked that the cooperation between the two sides has been lifted to a new height.


Li Aiwu said that Yueyang will make every effort to create a fair, transparent, honest, and predictable business environment for the project implementation. Li hoped Sunac China will continue to increase investment, accelerate project progress, and promote the completion and operation of the project as soon as possible. Li expected more efforts from Sunac China to support Yueyang’s cultural tourism industry investment, and more high-quality projects introduced to Yueyang, to create more cultural tourism landmarks in Yueyang.
