Secretary Wang Meets with Provincial Education Department Leaders

Wang Yiou, CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee secretary, met with Jiang Changzhong, CPC Leadership Group secretary and director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, on August 5, 2020. Municipal leaders Li Zhi, Tan Zhenghong, Wang Wu, and Li Wei, attended.


Yueyang has always adhered to the strategy of “strengthening the city by education”, giving priority to the development of education. It has coordinated regional education at various levels; promoted transparent and fair enrollment; reduced oversized classes; highlighted respect to teachers and education career; and, strengthened rural teacher cultivation. It has improved school infrastructure; accelerated the education layout adjustment; and, promoted the "six constructions and expansions" at the central urban area. Many works have been highly praised nationwide.


Secretary Wang briefed on the education development of Yueyang City and expressed sincere thanks to the Hunan Provincial Department of Education for its long-term care and support. He expected the education authority would continue to pay attention to the development of Yueyang's education and provide more support in rural teacher cultivation, public kindergarten construction, and school infrastructure improvement.

Director Jiang spoke highly of Yueyang’s achievements in education, and responded to the suggestions and specific issues. He noted that, Yueyang has made admirable efforts in giving priority to education; integrating and optimizing educational resources; and promoting educational development. Many achievements are influential around the province and even the whole country. He promised that the department would continue to support Yueyang's education work.
