Japanese Delegation Visits Yueyang

A Japanese delegation headed by Mr. Nagasawa , vice president of Numazu Association for International Communications and Exchanges (NICE)  visits Yueyang between October 30 and November 2.

The delegation was here to attend activities marking the 34th anniversary of sister-city ties between Yueyang and Numazu. 

Tan Zhenghong, CPC Yueyang Municipal Standing Committee member and secretary-general, met with the delegation.

Numazu is a city located in eastern Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It has an estimated population of 200,000. The total area of the city is 187 square kilometers. Numazu has developed agriculture and fishery, with a world-famous Numazu Port. Its dried fish accounts for more than 60% of the national output. Special products here are dried fish, tea, and oranges. The city¡¯s industry system is composed mainly of electric motors, metals, machinery, automotive parts, foodstuff, and chemicals. 

Tan Zhenghong welcomed the guests on behalf of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and the People¡¯s Government of Yueyang City. He said that in the past 34 years, Yueyang and Numazu have maintained close exchanges and cooperation in education, health, economy, trade and tourism, and have achieved fruitful results. He hoped that the two sides will further strengthen exchanges and work together to create a better future. Mr. Nagasawa  reviewed the two cities¡¯ efforts in expanding friendly cooperation over the past 34 years. He expected to strengthen friendly ties through this visit, in order to write a new chapter in its sister-city history.

The delegation visits Yueyang Foreign Languages School, Yueyang Vocational and Technical College, Yueyang Xiangbei Girls' Vocational Collage, Yueyang Tower, Junshan Island, Quyuan Culture Park, Dongting Lake Museum, and Sanhe Airport.
