2017 China Food & Catering Expo to Kick off
The 2017 China Food & Catering Expo will be held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center between September 14 and 17. The theme is "Integrate, Innovate, Green, and Safe". It is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and Hunan Provincial People¡¯s Government.
"The expo is an important exhibition supported by MOFCOM. We expect to make it China's premier exhibition for promoting domestic trade." Zhang Zhe said, an official of MOFCOM Circulation Industry Development Department. Zhang added, "Building on the successful 2016 Expo, the exhibition area will expand to 60,000 sqm with an estimated 1,200 exhibitors that will display their featured products, such as coffee, baking food, meat, wine, and tea."
The expo emphasizes international cooperation. The organizing committee has sent targeted invitations to relevant firms, guests, and purchasing agents from countries along the "Belt and Road" and free-trade area. The exhibition area for foreign exhibitors has increased 60% since last year. Countries including Australia, Thailand, Russia, Japan, Germany, France, and Sri Lanka will participate in the expo for the first time.
Twenty-two events have been organized, including a summit forum and a procurement matchmaking conference. Relevant government agencies and experts will discuss food and catering consumption trends and brand marketing trends, to provide new opportunities for Hunan.
