The container throughput amounted to 253,600 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) at Chenglingji Port from January to July this year, an increase of 87.09% year on year. The growth rate ranked first among the Yangtze River inland ports, and the container throughput caught up with and even outpaced Jiujiang and Yichang.

The seagoing vessel with a capacity of 10,000 tons which can go directly to Yangshan Port from Chenglingji Port was open few days ago. The normal operation of the vessel helps reduce shipping time and transportation cost. It will not only benefit Hunan enterprises in the development of import and export trade, but also attract more outside trade enterprises to transfer at the port, thus boosting the development of shipping and logistics industries.
