16th "Chinese Bridge" Summer Camp Starts

The 16th "Chinese Bridge" Summer Camp was launched at Hunan University (HNU) on August 6, 2017. A total of 123 college students from 106 countries and regions joined this 9-day event.

It was sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), and undertaken by the HNU for the 9 consecutive years, since initiating in 2009.

The summer camp includes activities in Beijing and Hunan. The participants visited the Confucius Institute Headquarters and the Great Wall in Beijing before August 6, and then will tour around Hunan till August 14. They will have Chinese language, national conditions, and "Belt and Road" Initiative lectures, to better understand China. They will visit Yuelu Academy, Hunan Embroidery Museum, Yueyang Tower, and Tongguan Kiln Museum; and, live with local host families and participate in Chinese and foreign student party, to experience Chinese daily life and understand Chinese people. They will also watch the final of the 16th "Chinese Bridge" ¨C Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students on the scene.
