Yueyang Helonghu Town Selected as Provincial Featured Agricultural Town
An executive meeting of the Hunan Provincial People¡¯s Government was held on November 16. It announced five new provincial featured agricultural towns, bringing the provincial total to 15.
The five towns are:
--Green Tea Town¡ªJinjing Town, Changsha County;
--Crab and Crayfish Town¡ªHelonghu Town, Xiangyin County;
--Animal Husbandry Town¡ªXizhou Township, Xihu Administration Area, Changde;
--Vegetable Town, Qiaotouhe Town, Lianyuan City; and,
--Rice and Crayfish Town¡ªNanzhou Town, Nanxian County.
According to the staff of the Hunan Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the selection of agricultural towns must have:
--good development planning and functional layout;
--a certain scale of industry and strong driving force;
--leading processing enterprises and good brand image;
--integrated development of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, and good economic performances; and,
--a favorable business environment.
Each of the five new towns has a whole-industrial-chain output value of more than 200 million yuan; more than one provincial leading processing enterprises or more than two municipal leading enterprises. Per capita disposable income of rural residents in each town in 2019 is more than 10% higher than the county¡¯s average level.
