2 Bln Clean Energy Project Launched in Yueyang

The construction of a sub project of Yueyang Port¡¯s LNG (liquefied natural gas) Station was launched in Guangxingzhou Town, Junshan District, on October 23. It is a clean energy project, with a total investment of two billion yuan, and an estimated annual production of 2.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas. It will be an important energy supplier for Hunan, and lay a solid foundation for promoting vessel oil-to-gas transformation along the Yangtze River and Dongting Lake watersheds.

In recent years, Yueyang¡¯s Junshan District has implemented the guideline of ¡°safeguarding the Yangtze River, and constructing beautiful Junshan¡±. A number of large and quality projects have been launched. As for the LNG project, experts compared five port zones along the Yangtze River carefully, and finally decided to have the project settled in Yueyang Port.

The project will be constructed in three phases, and completed in 2021 end and put into operation in 2022. After operation, it will crate 200 million yuan of tax revenue, while the related sectors, such as cold chain, distribution, and logistics, will create tax revenue of about 100 million yuan. Beyond that, 300 local jobs will be provided. It will be significant to accelerating high-quality development of Junshan District.
