Six Hunan Cities Rank Among Top 100 on 2020 Chinese City Economic Competitiveness List

On October 22, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Economic Daily jointly issued the "18th Report on Chinese City Competitiveness". Based on a multi-dimensional comparative study of 291 cities, the 2020 Chinese City Comprehensive Economic Competitiveness Ranking was announced. Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Shanghai were the top three cities, while Hunan¡¯s Changsha, Yueyang, Changde, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, and Hengyang were among the top 100.

Changsha moved up four places to 16th in the list, the only Hunan¡¯s city that makes the top 20 list. Compared to 2019, Yueyang, Changde, Zhuzhou rose eight, sixteen, ten places to 70th, 72nd, 82nd respectively. Xiangtan and Hengyang ranked 83rd and 96th respectively. 

This year's report also announced the following ranking lists, including:
--2020 Chinese City Sustainable Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 26th);
--2020 Chinese City Business Soft Environment Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 17th);

--2020 Chinese Cities¡¯ Local Factor Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 17th);
--2020 Chinese Cities' Living Environment Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 19th);
--2020 Chinese Cities' Global Connection Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 20th);
--2020 Chinese City Science and Technology Innovation Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 16th); and,
--2020 Chinese City Economic Vitality Competitiveness Ranking (Changsha ranked 11th).
