On July 22, Li Aiwu, CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee deputy secretary and Yueyang mayor, presided over a conference to promote the building of a modern logistics industrial chain. Li stressed that we should seize the opportunity and make targeted measures to achieve the development goal of an industrial output value of 100 billion yuan, and map out plans for the long-term development of the sector. Municipal leaders including Li Zhi, Li Yongfeng, Liu Xiaoying, and Xie Chunsheng, and Secretary General Liu Chuanhan, and persons in charge of related departments attended.

Although Yueyang¡¯s logistics sector is facing downward pressure caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, the industry has overcome difficulties and resumed production gradually. It provides a strong support for the resumption of other industries. It is estimated that Yueyang¡¯s logistics business volume dropped 70% in the first quarter this year, but it rebounded in the second quarter. The total value of logistics from January to June was 3.41 billion yuan. There were 10 new logistics projects signed and 3 intention projects inked during the period.

Li Aiwu listened to the work report on logistics industry. Participants described cold chain logistics, planning formulation and investment attraction, and put forward suggestions for the future development.
