At 18:00 on March 26, 346 migrant workers in Honghu City, Hubei Province took a free chartered train to head for Guangdong from Yueyang Railway Station. It was the first special train opened to facilitate the work resumption of Hubei migrant workers by the Guangzhou Railway Group and Hunan branch.

In recent days, Hubei has lifted the control of exit channels except Wuhan. There was an urgent need for migrant workers to return to work out of Hubei. In an effort to help poorer laborers return to their posts, the Honghu Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau in Hubei contacted with Changsha Railway Subsidiary of the Guangzhou Railway Group on March 25 to open a chartered train for work resumption from Yueyang Railway Station, which is adjacent to Hubei. Changsha Railway Subsidiary simplified the approval process and immediately applied for operating a special train to facilitate work resumption from the Guangzhou Railway Group.

The train stopped at Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen East Railway Station for point-to-point transportation based on passengers¡¯ travel demands. These 346 migrant workers are all from recorded poverty-stricken households. They were also offered food prepared by the Honghu Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
