Vice Mayor Qiu Inspects China-Africa Economic and Trade Industrial Park Project

On March 25, Yueyang Vice Mayor Qiu Hong visited Linxiang City to inspect the China-Africa Economic and Trade Industrial Park project. Persons in charge of the Yueyang Municipal Commercial and Grain Bureau, the Yueyang Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, the Yueyang Customs, and the Yueyang Municipal Foreign Exchange Administration participated. 

The project is invested and constructed by Yueyang Guansheng Company, with a planned land area of 2,000 mu (133.3 ha.). It is located on the south side of Highway S201 in Ruxi Chemical Industrial Park, Linxiang City. The project includes storage, processing, display, and trading centers and related supporting facilities for imported timber, agricultural products, grain and exported second-hand automobiles and clothing, with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan. It will be constructed in three phases, with the first phase worth 600 million yuan and covering an area of 600 mu (40 ha.). Import and export timber storage, distribution, display, and trading centers will be mainly built in the first phase. It is planned to begin construction in early May this year, and the main part will be completed and handed over at the end of the year.

Vice Mayor Qiu examined the project site environment to learn more about the project planning and design. After listening to the relevant reports, she requested to take advantage of current situation, seize opportunities, and make achievements. Efforts should be made to promote trade to thrive market, so as to further develop related industries; put forward relevant policies to introduce high-quality enterprises to settle in and further cultivate market entities; take actions and make progress, to do a good job of planning and adjustments and industrial development; and, accelerate project construction, and contribute to the high-quality economic development of Yueyang, she added.
