Yueyang Modern Logistics Industrial Output Value to Exceed 100 Bln CNY

The Yueyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (YYETDZ) announced on December 10 that that from January to October, its main logistics business revenue reached 6.5 billion CNY, an increase of 15% year on year. There are now 9 professional logistics parks such as Sunbridge, Kangwang, and Nanxiang Wanshang, with 396 logistics companies settled in. Among them, there are 35 companies with a registered capital of more than 10 million CNY. The Kangwang Logistics Park, with a total investment of 200 million CNY, has been approved as a 4A-level park with 43 enterprises located in. The Dashun Logistics Park, with a total investment of 300 million CNY, has been included in the Hunan Provincial ¡°13th Five-Year Plan¡± transportation hub construction plan. It has attracted 65 enterprises now.

The rapid development of YYETDZ modern logistics industry benefits from the municipal government¡¯s persistence in cultivating modern logistics as its leading industry. As an important node city of modern logistics in China, Yueyang has the geographical advantage of connecting river and sea. It is a national first-class port opening up to the outside world and one of China¡¯s 30 port logistics cities.

The city has a comprehensive waterway, highway, railway, airfreight, and pipeline network. It owns complete logistics business and infrastructure including inspection and quarantine, transportation, cold chain, warehousing, and e-commerce delivery. Its shipping logistics takes the first place in Hunan. The national ¡°one zone, one harbor, and four ports¡± platforms, including the Chenglingji Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, the Departure Tax Refund Harbor, and the Imported Meat, Vehicles, Grain, and Solid Waste Ports, have been put into operation. In 2018, the throughput reached 350 million tons of bulk cargo and nearly 600,000 TEUs of containers.

There are 33 logistics enterprises above A level, ranking second in Hunan. Relying on the advantages of multimodal transportation, Yueyang is accelerating the construction of such major projects as the New Port Phase ¢ò, the Comprehensive Free Trade Zone Phase ¢ò, the Port Railway, the Airport Industrial Park, the Xujiaqiao Logistics Park, and the 3 million tons coal reserve base. By 2020, the value of modern logistics will break through 100 billion CNY.
