Hunan Exhibition Park Wins Special and Gold Awards at Beijing Expo

The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition (Beijing Expo 2019) organizing committee recently announced the results of three rounds of reviews. The Hunan Exhibition Park, themed "Encountering Hunan-Taohuayuan", won a special award and a gold award. 

The park is based on Taohuayuan Scenic Area, Changde City, the original site depicted in Tao Yuanming's essay "Peach Blossom Spring". Visitors were immersed in several related creative zones with distinctive features, and exhibitions and performances. Besides, various activities were favored by visitors, including couplet collecting, partner recruitment, and exhibitions and performances of fishing, firewood cutting and farming and reading.

Mr. Bernard Oosterom, president of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), spoke highly of the Hunan Park. He said, the park shows Hunan's garden art and profound cultural deposit, and also presents Hunan¡¯s achievements in culture and tourism integrated development.

The Beijing Expo 2019 is China's highest-level and largest professional world exposition, after the Kunming Expo 1999 and Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The participators came from 110 countries and international organizations. During the expo, a total of 9.34 million visits have been made, and 3,284 cultural activities were held.
