During the National Day holiday, a large number of egrets flocked to the East Dongting Lake National Nature Reserve, where Yangtze finless porpoises also appeared frequently.

In recent years, as the Dongting Lake protection and management is advanced, the water quality and ecological environment of Dongting Lake have been improved. Dongting Lake is becoming a paradise for migratory birds, finless porpoises, and other wild animals.
