Vice Governor Xie Highlights Key Projects Construction
The Dongting Lake Area Provincial Key Construction Projects Symposium was held in Yueyang on August 10, 2019. Xie Jianhui, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and executive vice governor, attended.
In the first seven months of this year, 61 key provincial construction projects in the Dongting Lake area completed 59.71% of the planned annual investment. Overall progress was faster than the provincial average.
Vice Governor Xie pointed out that promoting key projects construction is an important measure in implementing the central government ¡°six-stable work¡± requirements (employment, financial sector, foreign trade, foreign and domestic investments, and expectations); seize major policy opportunities; and, support Hunan's high-quality development. Departments at all levels must unify their thoughts and actions in accordance with the CPC Central Committee's judgment on the economic situation and strengthen the sense of responsibility and urgency. We should accelerate key project construction to test the achievements of the ¡°remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind¡± theme education.
She emphasized that it was necessary to be highly responsible; concentrate on leadership and timetables; give priority to annual production and major industrial projects; establish handling, notification, and active coordination mechanisms; and pay close attention to the key projects implementation. She said, ¡°We must change our minds and innovative ways; stick to green development; give priority to ecologically-sound and intensive, economic development; strengthen the awareness of the rule of law and the bottom line; innovative thinking; and accelerate key project construction.¡± She continued, ¡°We must base ourselves on the current situation and pay attention to the coming year, do a better job in project reserves and planning, and ensure directional, strategic, feasible and scientific orientation.¡± It is necessary to strengthen investment promotion, introduce industrial projects, and guide social capital investment, she added.
After the meeting, Xie Jianhui inspected environmental remediation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, safe drinking water, and key projects construction.
