Hunan Releases Per Capita Disposable Income Statistics in H1

The Hunan Provincial People¡¯s Government Information Office held a press conference on July 17, 2019. The National Bureau of Statistics Survey Office in Hunan released survey data on the Hunan people¡¯s livelihood in the first half of 2019. It said that Hunan¡¯s per capita disposable income was 12,949 CNY, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%. The growth rate was 0.9 percentage points higher than the national average. It achieved steady and rapid growth, and showed a good trend of narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas.

According to the statistics, in the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in the province was 18,842 CNY, grew by 8.7% yearly; while that of rural residents was 7,142 CNY, up 9.2% year-on-year. The rural growth rate was 0.5 percentage points higher than the urban one. The income gap between urban and rural residents has been narrowed, and the per capita disposable income ratio of urban and rural residents is 2.64, down 0.01 percentage points compared with the same period of the previous year.

Targeted poverty alleviation has achieved remarkable results. The income of rural residents in poverty-stricken areas increased faster. In the first half, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in 51 poverty-stricken counties in the province was 5,272 CNY, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%, and 1.1 percentage points higher than the average level of rural residents in the province.
