Mufu Mountain National Forest Park Reopens After Two-month Overhaul

Tourists take the worldĄŻs longest jungle ride on Mufu Mountain.

On July 3, sightseeing road asphalt pavement was completed at Mufu Mountain Scenic Spot, Pingjiang County, Yueyang City. The scenic spot officially reopened the next day.

In January 2019, the Mufu Mountain Scenic Spot was approved as a national 4A-level scenic spot by the Hunan Tourist Attraction Rating Committee.
Then it launched a two-month-long closed overhaul project on April 30, on the approval of related tourism and culture authorities. The overhaul, including sightseeing road renovation, aims to promote its overall image and tourist safety.

As of now, 800 million CNY has been invested in the project. A jungle ride with the worldĄŻs longest route and diversified events have been opened fully to the public. A large live show online will be launched soon. Mufu Mountain cableway is under construction, which is expected to have acceptance check within two months. A series of distinctive tourist products are put on the marketed. Related facilities for study-tour summer camps will be completed soon.

Though the sightseeing roads are open to traffic, some follow-up renovations for ditches, road shoulders, greening, w-beam steel guardrails, anti-collision walls, and road surface markings are still in progress. Tourists are advised to drive at a low speed for safety.

There are three options to get there by bus:
1.  Take a bus to Pingjiang at Yueyang Bus Station (the fare is around 35 CNY), then take a bus from Pingjiang to Nanjiang at the Old Pingjiang Bus Station;
2.  Take a special bus line from Yueyang city proper to Nanjiang Town, then take a minibus to Mufu Mountain; or,
3.  Take a chartered bus to Mufu Mountain.
