High-speed Trains to Reach All Hunan¡¯s Cities and Prefecture
The Yuchangxia (Chongqing-Changsha-Xiamen) High-speed Railway, a part of Chinese ¡°Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal¡± railway network, accelerates its construction of Hunan sections.
The Hukun (Shanghai-Kunming) High-speed Railway Hunan Company announced on April 15 that, the Changde-Yiyang-Changsha section will start construction this June, and the Qianjiang (Chongqing Municipality) -Zhangjiajie-Changde section will begin a trial operation in November.
The Yuchangxia Railway connects Sichuan and Chongqing area with Central China, and is a high-speed line connecting east and south China. Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde, Changde-Yiyang-Changsha, and Changsha-Ganzhou (Jiangxi Province) sections are the three parts run through Hunan. At present, the Changsha-Ganjiang section is on preliminaries. The Qianjiang-Zhangjaijie-Changde section is to be completed, and begin debugging in September and trial operation in November.
The main track of the Changde-Yiyang-Changsha Railway is 157.3 km in length. There are five stations along the line ¨C Changde, Hanshou (S), Yiyang (S), Ningxiang (W), and Changsha (W). The designed speed is 350 km per hour. Upon its operation, all of Hunan¡¯s 13 cities and one prefecture can be reached by high-speed trains.
