HCPG Sees a Good Start in 2019

The Xuanteng No. 5 Liner, loaded with 137 containers, left the Chenglingji New Port and set sail to Shanghai at 9:18 pm on February 13, 2019. The Hunan Chenglingji International Port Group (HCPG) welcomed a booming start this January. It achieved a container throughput of 58, 282 TEUs, an increase of 38.9% over the same period last year.

The HCPG Yueyang and Changsha Ports accomplished a container throughput of 668,000 TEUs in 2018, up 17.01%. This year, it set an annual target of 600,000 TEUs for Yueyang and 180,000 TEUs for Changsha. Relevant group leaders and department heads have visited the shipping companies and freight forwarders many times since January, to get to know about market situations. They called for keeping regular orders and finding new increments.

There were 37 voyages of the transit ship completed, and nearly 6,000 TEUs added in the western ward market. More than 3,100 TEUs of fireworks were completed in the Changsha market, an increase of 441% and bringing more than 6,000 TEUs to the Chenglingji New Port. The number of auto parts and grain containers in Changsha has also grew significantly. The bulk cargo containerization market of domestic plate rolling was 10 times larger than the same period last year. In the Yueyang local market, the grain doubled and the finished paper increased by 8 times. This January, Chenglingji New Port completed 44,464 TEUs, an increase of 36.49%; and, Changsha Jixing Port 13,818 TEUs, an increase of 47.29%.
