2018 Hunan Running League Competition Kicks off
On the morning of December 1, the 2018 Hunan Running League Competition was held at Nanhu Square, Dongting Lake Tourist Resort, Yueyang City. The competition brought together thousands of runners from all over Hunan. Deputy Secretary of the Hunan Sports Association, Feng Xiangjiang, Director of the Hunan Social Sports Guidance Service Center, Zhou Guangzheng, and other officials were present at the opening ceremony.
The competition includes a men's (10km), a women's (10km), and mixed (4¡Á10km). It was hosted by the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, organized by the Hunan Social Sports Guidance Service Center, and Hengyang Municipal People¡¯s Government, and supported by Nanhu New District, Yueyang City, and Hunan Lingying Outdoor Sports Co., Ltd.
After fierce competition, Chen Dingxin, in the men's competition, finished first in in a time of 31:36. Yue Yue, in the women's competition won in 39:36. Hunan Normal University¡¯s Tianqin Running Team won the team championship with an elapsed time of 127:45.
The Hunan Running League Competition was first held in 2016. The previous five competitions were held in Changsha (twice), Zhuzhou, Hongjiang, and Xiangtan. Yueyang, a famous historical and cultural city, serves as the sixth stop of the activity.
As mass fitness prevails in major cities, more and more running groups and individuals participate. In order to provide more opportunities for runners, the Hunan Running League Competition aims to hold the largest running competition in Hunan and even in China. It will work to make a healthy lifestyle more interesting and attractive, and improve the public¡¯s health further.
