Five Hunan Villages Won ¡°2018 China¡¯s Beautiful Leisure Village¡± Title
Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released a list of China's beautiful leisure villages in 2018. A total of 150 villages such as Dongcun Village in Fangshan District of Beijing were made into the list. Five administrative villages in Hunan were also included.
The five Hunan villages are: Shibadong Village in Huayuan County; Tongmu Village in Yuelu District; Xichang Village in Miluo City; Tuping Village in Xinhua County; and, Nanmuqiao Village in Mayang County. Among them, Tongmu Village is located in the southwest of Lianhua Town, Yuelu District. In 2004, it was formed by the merge of the three administrative villages of Tongmu, Xintai, and Fengtang. Its forest coverage rate is 50%.
In 2017, Changsha government upgraded 100 beautiful rural demonstration villages, and completed 30 characteristic villages establishment. Up to now, the city's provincial-level beautiful rural demonstration villages amount to 53. According to the three-year action plan for the Changsha beautiful rural areas construction, it will build 100 demonstration villages and 100 characteristic villages. It is hoped that a beautiful countryside should be featured with ¡°beautiful layout, industry, environment, life, and style¡±. Eighty percent of villages in the city will be made into such villages.
