Unveiling Ceremony Held for HGCCC in Cambodia

The Hunan General Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (HGCCC) opening ceremony and the 2nd Council Member inaugural ceremony were held in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia on September 22, 2018. Men Sam An, Cambodian deputy prime minister; Li Jie, counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia; Tian Ling, director of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Consular Office; Chen Changjiang, president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia; Li Boling, HGCCC founding president; Hong Zuwen, deputy director of the Hunan Business Office in Cambodia; Huang Huanming, vice president of the Khmer-Chinese Association in Cambodia; together with representatives of Chinese associations in Cambodia, and Hunan Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar attended.

Ms. Men Sam An spoke highly of the contributions made to the Cambodian economic development by Hunanese in her country. She hoped they would take this opportunity to serve as links between Hunan and Cambodia, and give full play the spirits of Hunanese to better devote to Cambodia's economic progress.

Counselor Li Jie, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, congratulated on the unveiling ceremony of the HGCCC. He hoped that it will inherit and carry forward the traditions of solidarity, friendship, mutual assistance, and harmonious development; guide members to abide by Cambodian laws, regulations, and traditional customs; and, work together for the wellbeing of its members and the Cambodian Chinese, so as to promote Cambodian social advancement, and make its own contribution to enhancing the friendship between China and Cambodia.

The Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia was established in October 2012, and upgraded to the Hunan General Chamber of Commerce in December 2017. The membership units have grown from more than 40 in the founding period to 138 of today. Nearly 100,000 Hunanese in Cambodia are engaged in the fields of garment, manufacturing, engineering construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, hydropower, internet, tourism, catering, trade, logistics, advertising, and media. A group of Hunan enterprises stand out and continue to Cambodian development. HGCC¡¯s establishment would witness more stories of Hunan people who ¡°dare to be the first¡± in Cambodia.
