Hunan Foreign Trade Volume up About 30% in First Seven Months

The Changsha Customs Office shows that Hunan¡¯s total import and export value reached 154.22 billion CNY from January to July, an increase of 29.6% over the same period of last year. The exports were 97.53 billion CNY, up 29%; and the imports 56.69 billion CNY, grew by 30.6%.

Private enterprises witnessed a rapid growth, becoming the major force of Hunan¡¯s foreign trading. Their total value reached 101.93 billion CNY, an increase of 43.5% and accounting for 66.1% of the total value of the province. The import and export values of foreign-invested enterprises and state-owned enterprises were 33.39 billion CNY and 18.88 billion CNY respectively, a year-on-year increase of 11.7% and 4.7% and accounting for 21.7% and 12.2% of the total.

Electromechanical and traditional labor-intensive products were the main export commodities. From January to July, the province exported 42.39 billion CNY of electromechanical products, an increase of 20.9% and accounting for 43.5% of the total export value. The import of electromechanical products was 24.6 billion CNY, an increase of 28.1% and accounting for 43.4% of the total import value.
