In recent years, Hunan, as an important province along the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, has been making great efforts in actively and comprehensively integrating itself into “the Yangtze River Economic Belt Strategy”. It has followed the guideline of “promoting well-coordinated environmental conservation and avoiding excessive development”, and taken its bounden duty of protecting the Yangtze River and the Dongting Lake. It is expected that Hunan’s integration will promote its economic transformation and upgrading, and accelerate the new pattern for the development of an open economy. Hunan will give a satisfying development answer to the requirements of “building itself into a province with beautiful ecological environment, smooth traffic flow, harmonious economy, uniform market, and scientific mechanism.”

Yueyang, located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, is the “main land” and gateway for Hunan to integrate into the Belt. It will make more efforts to have new accomplishments in promoting ecological environment along the Yangtze River.
