Recent hot days caused great trouble to outdoor workers. ¡°Love stations¡± were occurred to help them avoid the scorching heat.

At 8 o'clock on the morning of July 31, Mr. Zhang, a sanitation worker of Yueyang City, walked into a postal savings bank along the Yueyang Avenue, after he finished cleaning the street. In the hall, he turned on the self-service water dispenser and poured a glass of icy water. He then sat comfortably on the sofa in a corner and enjoyed the coolness brought in by the air conditioner. The corner was the place where the bank¡¯s love station was arranged by the city's urban management department.

It was learnt that there are 11 such stations set up in Yueyang, which are mainly distributed along the urban trunk roads such as the Commercial Pedestrian Street, the Nanhu Avenue, and the Yueyang Avenue. It aims to allow outdoor workers to wash their hands, drink cool water, and take a rest while they are working in hot days. The stations were small yet well-equipped. The rest area is equipped with tables and chairs, mineral water or water dispensers, free medicine boxes, charging sockets, heatstroke prevention and other facilities. The signboards were also hung in the places where ¡°love stations¡± are opened, to facilitate identification and search of outdoor workers. The opening hours are the same with the business hours of the venues.
