Yueyang to Prioritize Seven Distinctive Industries

On July 9, the Hunan Provincial Agriculture Commission released the Guiding Catalogue for the Leading Distinctive Industry Development of Hunan Province. It aims to foster one distinctive industry in one county.

Yueyang¡¯s 10 counties (cities/districts) made the list, and will focus on the development of seven major industries.

The Guiding Catalogue covers the leading distinctive industries of 123 counties (cities/districts) of Hunan Province. It features 9 categories, including 13 distinctive grain and oil industries, 32 vegetable industries, 20 fruit industries, 17 tea industries, 14 livestock and poultry industries, 10 aquatic product industries, 9 Chinese herbal medicine industries, and 8 flower and bamboo industries.

Yueyang will give priority to the following seven major industries: tea oil in Yueyang Tower District; gardenia jasminoides in Quyuan Management District; yellow tea in Junshan District, Pingjiang County, and Linxiang City; squab, mustard greens, zongzi (a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves) in Yueyang County, Huarong County, and Miluo City respectively; and crayfish in Xiangyin County and Yunxi District.
