Nanhu Lake Selected as “International Charming Leisure Lake”

The Tenth International Leisure Lake Forum was held in Dongqian Lake, Ningbo, Zhejiang a few days ago. Yueyang’s Nanhu Lake won the award of the "International Charming Leisure Lake" at the Forum.

The Forum provides a great opportunity for renowned lakes domestically and internationally to enhance exchanges and cooperation. During its opening, observation group members coming from media agencies, and experts in the circle of tourism selected 16 “International Charming Leisure Lakes” based on the Standard for the Evaluation of International Leisure Lakes. Other lakes enjoying the title include Italy’s Lake Como, Finland’s Lake Saimaa, Switzerland’s St. Gallen-Bodensee, and China’s West Lake, Lake Tai, Qinghai Lake, Yangcheng Lake.

Nanhu Lake, a natural lake derived from Dongting Lake, covers a total area of 12 square kilometers. Its lake waters consist of the main lake, Wangjia River to the east of Sanyan Bridge, Beigang (north port) River, Nangang (south port) River, and the river system of Huangmei Port. An insider of the Nanhu Lake New District said that in the future, it will be expected to be a new identity on Yueyang’s city tourism leisure industry. The government will build it based on the construction standard of the national level tourism resort and in line with the features of international leisure lakes.
