Liu Hesheng Implements River Patrolling for Ecological Treatment

CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee Secretary and Yueyang Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Director Liu Hesheng made a one-day inspection tour on the ecological treatment in the Yangtze River and the Dongting Lake Basin on Apr. 11. Liu requested to solve the problems identified on the site.

He stressed that efforts should be exerted to further raise political awareness, implement the requirement of “promoting well-coordinated environmental conservation and avoiding excessive development”, and stick to the concept of “clear waters and green mountains are as good as mountains of gold and silver”. Strides should be made to carry out the river chief mechanism (the mechanism would appoint the heads of provincial, city, county and township levels as river chiefs and make them responsible for managing and protecting all rivers and lakes in the given region), and continue to maintain a tough stance against environmental violations, so as to win the environmental protection battle. 

Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and Secretary General Tan Zhenghong accompanied him on the visit.
