The analysis meeting of Hunan's industrial economic situation in first quarter was held on April 4, 2018. It announced that Hunan's industrial economy is expected to drop slightly in March after achieving rapid growth in the first two months of this year. However, a good momentum of growth will be maintained on the whole compared with the same period last year.

Statistics show that from January to February this year, the added value of Hunan's industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 8.1%, a year-on-year increase of 1.8 percentage points. Among them, the added value of manufacturing increased by 8.3%. From January to February, the growth rate of added value of Hunan's industrial enterprises above designated size ranked 13th nationwide and 3rd among the 6 provinces in central China. The rankings both moved up two places over the previous year.

From January to February, Hunan's industrial electricity consumption increased by 10.8%, a year-on-year increase of 8.5 percentage points. The exports of industrial products increased by 54.9% during that period.
