Dongting Lake Grand Bridge to Be Open to Traffic

The main bridge completes construction after its forty pairs of stayed-cable central buckles successfully installed. It is planned to be open to traffic by the end of this month. Zhu Lishan, person in charge of the bridge A1 section, supervises construction on site. He said, “HRBCG workers are busying building the bridge despite the severe cold. HRBCG President Ma Jie introduced, "The two towers of the Dongting Lake Grand Bridge are designed to be 206 and 203 meters high respectively. The six-lane bridge is 2,390 meters long. Its main span is 1480 meters, 304 meters longer than the Aizhai Bridge. It is a steel beam suspension bridge with China's longest, and the world's second-longest bridge span.
