Hunan Youth: A Major Force in Entrepreneurship in 2016
The Hunan Province Administration for Industry and Commerce issued the Analysis Report on Hunan Youth Entrepreneurship (2016) on 31 October 2017. It says there are 137,100 Hunan youth setting up 99,200 enterprises in 2016, accounting for 75.4% and 83.3% of the total respectively.
According to the report, 79.1% of the first-time entrepreneurs in 2016 were young people. Most of them concentrated in the service sector, accounting for 82.1% of the total. The corporate enterprises were the first choice for young entrepreneurs. The number of female young entrepreneurs increased significantly in 2016, up 20.5% over the previous year. More than 30% young entrepreneurs hold undergraduate degrees or above.
