According to statistics from the Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on Oct. 30, Yueyang's Chenglingji Port has accumulatively imported 2.103 million tons of grain and its products over the past three years since its approval as a designated port for imported grain. This year, the number of grain directly imported and transferred at the port totaled 903,000 tons, which is about to achieve the target of "one-million-ton grain port".

Supported by Chenglingji designated port for imported grain, a batch of large-scale grain and oil companies have settled in Chenglingji New Port Area, including COFCO Yueyang Chenglingji Industrial Park, COFCO Rice, Higreen, Yihai Kerry, and Daodaoquan Grain and Oil. The number of companies specializing in imported grain and its products rose to 19 in 2017 from 4 in 2014.

Yueyang has played a growing central role in importing primary agricultural products and in reserving, processing and distributing grain and oil in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is also playing a positive role in driving the development of Hunan's grain logistics industry.
