The Baisha Frescoes Imitation Exhibition is taking place at the Yueyang Convention and Exhibition Center from May 10 to 20.

Lijiang Baisha fresco is one of the four major murals in China. It is a treasure of Chinese mural art and is as famous as the murals in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Fahai Temple in Beijing, and Yongle Palace in Shanxi. The exhibition displays 60 representative works of famous painters of Naxi ethnic group created in their early days. The works are copies of Lijiang Ming- and Qing-era Baisha frescoes created by Ming and Qing painters for hundreds of years. They are artistic crystallization of Naxi, Tibetan, Bai, and Han ethnic groups, presenting exchanges and fusion of different cultures. They tell the stories of national traditional culture, the Chinese spirit, and the Chinese dream.

More than 100 media across the country are organized to discuss the protection and spread of Baisha frescoes, showcase the quality works of Baisha frescoes imitations, present the splendor of the Silk Road civilization, and tell the Chinese stories of the harmonious development of multi-ethnic cultures.
