National first- and second-class protected animals including white cranes, white storks, gray cranes, cygnets, and egrets can be seen everywhere in the lake. They have attracted much international attention. Many endangered birds, such as hooded cranes, great bustards, swan goose, and baer's pochards can be seen in the lake.
