This year¡¯s National Day holiday coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival. It was learned from the People¡¯s Government of Xinshi Town that it will hold the 4th Mid-Autumn Festival of Pagoda Burning Folk Culture Tourism Festival themed ¡°Our Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival¡±.
The custom of burning pagodas in the ancient town of Xinshi is a Yueyang municipal intangible cultural heritage, which originated in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. Nowadays, it has been given new connotations. People regard it as a blessing activity to appreciate homesickness, safety, hope for a good harvest, and willing for wealth. The pagoda is built higher and larger with richer content, and more exciting atmosphere. It has become a Mid-Autumn Festival highlight and a feast of folk culture for domestic and foreign tourists.
