¡°Inheriting Revolutionary Spirits¡± Painting Exhibition Opens

A painting exhibition themed ¡°Inheriting Revolutionary Spirits¡± opened at the Yueyang Cultural and Art Exhibition Center on December 26, 2019. It was hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and the Working Committee of Departments Directly under the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee, and organized by the Yueyang Art Museum and Yueyang Artist Association. Ma Na, standing committee member and publicity director of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee, announced the opening of the exhibition.

About 80 paintings are on display. They were created by Wen Antai, retired cadre of the Working Committee of Departments Directly under the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and member of China Artists Association, and his son Wen Jie, council member of the Beijing Dongcheng District Artists Association and member of the Hunan Artist Association. The paintings depicted some daily use articles and poetry of Chairman Mao Zedong, and President Xi Jinping¡¯s concerns on people¡¯s livelihood. Landscapes, flowers and birds are also involved. Various painting skills were used, such as Gongbi (a meticulous style in traditional Chinese painting), heavy-color painting, and combination of Gongbi and Xieyi (a freehand style in traditional Chinese painting).
The exhibition will open until January 16, 2020.
