A Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition will be held in Yueyang on September 5. The exhibition preparations are in progress.

The exhibition is held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, display Hunan¡¯s abundant intangible cultural heritage items, strengthen intangible cultural heritage exchanges throughout the province, and call for more public attention and protection in this regard.

The exhibition is a practice to implement the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Plan on Revitalizing China¡¯s Traditional Crafts", and follow the intangible cultural heritage protection philosophy. A variety of activities will be held to strengthen province-wide exchanges, and demonstrate Hunan¡¯s recent achievements in intangible cultural heritage protection. Performances, trade fair, online/offline publicity, and hands-on experiences are arranged in the exhibition.

The event is hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee, and the Yueyang Municipal People's Government.

Six major activities will be arranged, including a press conference; an opening ceremony; exquisite handcrafts exhibition; a themed gala; tea making; and, an ¡°intangible cultural heritage + tourism¡± forum.
