Hunan¡¯s Ceramic Exports Benefit from ¡°Belt and Road¡± Initiative

On May 23, the Changsha Customs announced that, between this January and April, Hunan has exported ceramic products of 180 million yuan to the countries along the ¡°Belt and Road¡±, an increase of 72.1% over last year. Hunan¡¯s ceramic exports have grown by 18.1% resulted from the Initiative. It has become a new area of export growth.

Hunan¡¯s ceramic product exports have seen rapid growth for eight consecutive months since last September, with over 170% increase being made in five months. Between this January to April, 161 Hunan ceramic companies sold their products to the ¡°Belt and Road¡± countries, including 75 new exporters making a total export volume of over 80 million yuan.

Southeast Asian, West Asian and North African, and Central and East European countries were the main client bases. Between January and April, Hunan has exported its ceramic products of 52.45 million yuan to 11 Southeast Asian countries, a year-on-year increase of 77.5%; that of 51.62 million yuan to 16 West Asian and North African countries, an increase of 68.3%; and, that of 36.64 million yuan to 16 Central and East European countries, an increase of 87.8%.

Liling won household ceramics orders during the 121st China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) which just concluded early this month. The orders won from the ¡°Belt and Road¡± countries increased by more than 20% over last year. Nearly 40% were standing orders.
