The Yueyang Commerce and Grain Bureau announced that, Yueyang¡¯s export economy kept a strong growth momentum between January and August this year. The foreign trade value totaled 2.17 billion USD, making a year-on-year growth of 98.9%. The total value and the growth rate respectively ranked 4th and first among Hunan¡¯s cities.

In 2018, Yueyang strove to undertake the task of industrial transformation from coastal and riverside areas:
1.Attracted a batch of water-related enterprises to strengthen and complement the industrial chains;
2.Gave increased policy supports and accelerated the policies to be put in place; and,
3.Encouraged municipal and provincial industrial parks, foreign trade enterprises, and domestic ones which intend to develop international market, to make breakthrough in or double their trade performances.

The key enterprises received targeted supports, to intensify their ¡°ballast¡± role. Priorities were given to a batch of new export projects and foreign trade business, such as Junhe Grain and Oil Co. Ltd., and Country Power Group. Most of the export enterprises are located in Chenglingji New Port area and the Yueyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, marking a drive for and concentration of Yueyang¡¯s opening development.

Beyond that, investment abroad, and contracted engineering projects and labor services for foreign countries, kept growing. This gave impetus to high-quality and hi-tech enterprises to explore international market of labor, technology, capital, and projects.

Attentions have been focused on the overseas contracted projects, including the Russian ANPZ¨CEPC project of the 4th Construction Company of the China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation (CNCEC), the petrochemical project in Kazakhstan, and Puerto La Cruz refinery project.
