Hubin University former site at Yueyang¡¯s Nanhu New Area has been inscribed into the fourth edition of the 20th-Century Chinese Architectural Heritage List recently. The list was drafted by the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics and the Architectural Society of China. Only three sites from Hunan made the list. Hubin University former site is Yueyang¡¯s only one added to the list.

Hubin University former site is located at Hubin Huangshawan Scenic Area, Nanhu New Area. The university was founded by Mary Belle Adult Hoy, wife of American priest William Edwin Hoy, in 1901. It was listed among the seventh batch of key cultural relics under state protection by the State Council in May 2013. It has 13 historical buildings and is the only well-preserved church university in China.

The 20th century Chinese architectural heritage list was firstly announced in 2016. At present, a total of 396 sites are added to the four editions of the list.
